Zoutes are my thoughts collected over time. Thoughts that came to me in the middle of an epiphany or just mere observations. Hopefully, you can relate.
Do good only when it makes you feel good. Instant gratification is all you should look for, otherwise everything else is a waste of time. That is when one ends up complaining when the deed is not reciprocated. There could be an ounce of truth that when one does good, goodness comes unto them – karma. But you do not decide which good deed should bear fruit.
Have you heard of the story where the chicken raised a bird, and the bird all through its life thought it was a chicken and never tried to fly? Yup. That’s like perspective. We all have different perspectives of life and the most ingrained ones are the ones we’re accustomed to. It takes a lot for us to see anything else aside what we know. And anytime something outside your perspective is introduced to you, it becomes something of a mountain to conquer cos you don’t even know the ins and outs of it. You may go around it but definitely you have to go through it. That’s where maturity comes from, cos you overcame something unfamiliar to your perspective. They say, you matured.
There are some things you can’t change and those are the perks of life.
Did you decide who your parents are? No
Did you decide which country to be born into? No
Did you choose to be a boy instead of a girl or vice versa? No
So why are you trying so hard to let things always go your way?
Life is going to offend you in complex ways that you probably thought otherwise, that you’ve been a good person, kind, generous, humble etc.
Life will still give you unpleasant experiences and it’s natural and it’s life and we didn’t choose it. It chose us!!
